Heavenly Kingdoms of Peace are a set of countries located all over the world, Including Borneo, Taiwan, China, and Southern Africa. At least one of them has been a country since the beginning of the second great flood. Established by Hong Meichuan and his small band of followers in 2034 in the back hills of Taiwan. Hong brought the rest of the island under his control within the next few decades. After his death and the recreation of the College of Cardinals, until 2148, the country in Taiwan kept itself cut off from the rest of the world. Only recently did the Kingdom begin expanding into mainland China, and soon the world. The Heavenly Kingdoms of Peace prides themselves on their faithfulness and kindness in spreading the good word. Establishing themselves all over the globe, as an ideal model, for all to see and to emulate.

History[edit | edit source]

the Second Great Flood[edit | edit source]

In 2033 when the seas began to rise many, if not most people, attributed it to human intervention in the environment. Many in the world still attribute the event to this alone. However the supposed technology used to do this does not seem to be possible, and cannot be recreated in any lab environment. Regardless of his method god brought the waters up to cleanse the impurities that had arisen in the pre-modern world. It is estimated that about 95% percent of people on the island of Taiwan died in the decade after the waters began to rise, and about 90% of the greater earths population. The Republic of China collapsed within 2 years, though the nation's leaders managed cling on in a base near the center of the country for over a decade. Despite this the Republic of China never controlled or administered any area outside of this base in any real capacity.

It was in this chaos that Hong Meichuan was born, on the very first day the waters began to rise. God's second son, sent to atone for the sins committed by the world, and to lead them to a brighter path. The world was baptized in those waters that now overflow the old ports and support the fisheries of today. A constant reminder of his strength. Hong struggled through the time of purging like all the rest, and like all the rest who survived, he was judged pure enough to help remake the world in a better image. He and his earliest followers lived in the mountains and hills, and this is considered the beginning of the Kingdom of Peace.

After years had passed and the time of Purging was nearing an end, Hong and his followers marched into the city of Nantou in 2045 to finally spread the good word to the general populace. Many gathered around him, enthralled by his words. Some even collapsed to their knees to receive baptizement. The local warlord who controlled the city however was enraged by Hong's word. Dozens of men were brought to silence him, however Hong and his followers with gods might fought them off valiantly in the streets of the city. Hong went to see the warlord in his makeshift palace. Once face to face, Hong's word of peace and faith moved the warlord. The man was so convicted he left the city, declaring Hong would be the most fit ruler of it. The old warlord went to live a quiet life in peaceful isolation like Christian monks had for Centuries in the west. He was never see in the city again.

The time of Purging officially ended when Hong succeeded in uniting the island under his holy enlightened rule. Hong also is responsible for the time of Inner Reflection which began at the end of the time of Purging. Hong outlawed anyone from traveling to the mainland. Would be traders, envoys, and migrants, would have all goods and valuables stripped of them and given to the commune that found them. In return they would be allowed to live in the commune and learn the ways of Christianity. This was done so that the people of Taiwan might perfect themselves, as a society, before spreading the good word. For the world outside of Taiwan was still in a period of semi-purging, and only perfection would be able to take on the world, to cleanse it fully.

Council of Yilan[edit | edit source]

With the death of Hong Meichuan in 2062, there was an early crisis of who should then lead the country and the faithful. Naturally the leader of one should be the leader of the other to follow in tradition. The solution was found in Shen Tsai. In 2063 he gathered the most prominent priests from around the island to host a council like those had before in the west. The council of Yilan did much to establish the modern structure of the church today. Most of the priests took on the title of bishop, and elected Shen as the new Pope, god's representative on earth. Who took the name Shen I.

Shen I is responsible for, among other things, formalization of the tithe system, founder of the College of Cardinals, Naming Nantou the new Rome, introducing indulgences, and formalizing innumerable practices. He is the single most impactful Pope on the country's history. With the most recent Hong IV coming in a close second
